Jennifer Coogan is Chief Content Officer of Newsela, an instructional content platform and one of the fastest-growing startups in K-12 education technology. Jennifer has a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in comparative literature from Wellesley College. She lives in the heart of Silicon Valley with her husband and two children.

Monique Jones is a Deputy Editor for ESPN’s The Undefeated, running the day-to-day of the website dedicated to the intersection of race, sports and culture. Monique’s 20-year career as a reporter and editor includes time as a sports reporter at The Dallas Morning News, New England Patriots reporter for The Boston Globe and NFL editor at USA Today. She joined ESPN in 2015 as an NFL editor and transitioned to running ESPN.com’s Major League Baseball coverage before joining The Undefeated.

Halimah Abdullah is the Executive Editor of Social Studies and News at Newsela. She is an award-winning, veteran national political journalist who has headed up online Washington coverage for ABC News and online government coverage for NBC News. She’s also served as a Washington correspondent for McClatchy newspapers and also written for the Dallas Morning News, the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Newsday, CNN, MSNBC.com, thegrio.com, TODAY.com, and The New York Times, among other publications. Abdullah has also taught at Brooklyn College, John Jay College, the University of Maryland, American University and the University of the District of Columbia
