Dan brings twenty-plus years of professional experience spent working towards a more perfect union of teaching, learning and technology. Prior to Newsela, Dan was the founding Director of Digital Learning at Achievement First Public Charter Schools, where he spearheaded the integration of digital learning technologies across the network. He began his education career in Teach for America and went on to teach in public and private schools, as well as in the US Navy. He holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Brown University, and Tufts University.

As a Partner at TNTP, Jamila currently leads the organization’s work in redesigning its Teacher Development Framework. Over the last four years, while working at TNTP, Jamila has supported large urban school districts in their efforts to design and implement integrated academic strategies that promote rigorous instruction and improved student outcomes, including: developing and articulating a vision for high quality instruction; building leaders and teachers knowledge of the content areas, its shifts and standards; implementing high-quality, standards-aligned curricular materials; providing targeted, job-embedded content-specific coaching and professional development to leaders and teachers.
Jeffrey Tsang
Partner, The New Teacher Project
Jeff is a Partner at TNTP, based in San Francisco. His work is dedicated to helping educators expand student access to opportunity through capacity building and innovation. Prior to TNTP, Jeff founded an education consulting firm that partnered with school districts to redesign, launch and scale innovative, personalized school models that put students in charge of their learning. In this work, Jeff managed complex, district-wide, school-redesign projects requiring coordination across central office departments and the principals and teachers of multiple schools.

Over the last three years, Brandee has led the transformation of ELA instruction across her school through the adoption of high quality curriculum and an intense focus on implementation. As a result of her school’s sustained work, all of her students can analyze and write about complex, grade-level texts. Before serving as principal, Brandee was a middle school English teacher for eleven years at the school, and served as the district data and testing coordinator for three years. She has served in her current role for six years.
