How East Orange School District Filled Gaps in Core Curriculum and Engaged Students With Newsela Social Studies

East Orange School District (EOSD) is a diverse, suburban K-12 district in New Jersey. When district leaders were evaluating needs for resources across subjects, they identified a lack of content for social studies. The district needed engaging, accessible social studies content to supplement the gaps not covered by their core curriculum. The district purchased Newsela Social Studies to ensure teachers at every grade level had access to quality nonfiction content for their social studies lessons.
